Trains really run the backbone of local and state economies - a union strike is looming
10/31/22 - 1 min read
An analysis from trains.com at how the strike that is coming to head in 3 weeks is far bigger than anything we've seen in over three decades; even bigger than the railroad fight earlier this year that ended in a settlement hours before the strike would have started.
The dispute is between the railroad and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen, and the SMART-TD union that represents conductors.
If these people don't show up for work, trains nationally cease almost immediately after the strike is conferred with the union head.
The key date to watch will be on or around November 21.
