So, a question, I have 30k in savings. I won't do stock because I know nothing about it and its too much of a risk anyway. I have 200 oz of silver, no gold. What would you do Silence?

My response:

I would keep 2 months cash flow in the bank, 1-2 months of physical cash somewhere safe, stock up on water, food, canned goods, toiletries, anything "necessary" to your life, sometimes medicines, things like that. Prepare your home as much as you can make of it to your liking and what God is telling you should prepare. At that point, it's time to start stacking physical Silver FIRST; I do a ratio of 75% Silver, 20% Gold and 5% Platinum. That is my preference, but you should research what is best for your family or personal needs at that point! Research, research, research. Like Peter Lynch always taught and teaches to this day. Understand why you may or may not want the 1 Gram bars (they look like mini Hershey's bars), or you can look at 1 oz rounds, "junk Silver", 5oz/10oz/kilo/100oz bars (research discounts as you "buy in bulk"), go down to the local coin shop and ask questions. Research and discernment are key! Because this is just my opinion, even though there's FDIC, any excessive cash reserves ($250k+ in particular) could be considered for Bank bail-in, or long-term bank holiday ... It really depends on what a particular bank failure looks like, and what the bank's books look like - assets compared to its liabilities ... at that point we can only really look to history to understand what has happened to try to predict what will ultimately happen again. Only this time, the system is far different and far more manipulated than it was many years ago, yet many root elements stay in the the same pattern. In my humble opinion, "Junk Silver" is one of my favorites of all time - you cannot fake a beautifully toned 1930's Half Dollar, particularly if it has been circulated! But the 1938-D in BU is a collectors dream! Once you have held a thousand half dollars, quarters, dimes, Silver Eagles, bars, and looked at them, studied their features, yes even smelled it, you'll understand and appreciate what it's like to hold real money in your hands, and how blessed and fortunate you are to have had discernment to buy at these crazy prices! Dare I say I think we are even after adjusting for inflation and other factors that we are cheaper than 1971 and 2001 on a relative value compared to money printing and current interest rates relative to real inflation!
