Feds seize $3.6 Billion in Bitcoin... So much for the crypto marketplace being "anonymous" - that was just a conspiracy theory all along. I've commented previously that I have always been in the camp that held the belief that current crypto platforms are nothing more than a Honeypot for government agencies to watch, analyze and even blackmail those they know are committing crimes, while letting the rest of the people participate in the ecosystem to drive prices higher. As long as the people are looking at the crypto hype, and not looking at government and ways to make the government system smaller in size, then they are not focusing on the Crux of the problem.
If a Government wants something and they have unlimited Fiat resources, they will track it down and they will take it, whether legitimate or not! Will the Government spend as much time and resources as they did to seize this Bitcoin, to ensure that every Bitcoin goes back to the rightful owner?
Honest money not only provides total anonymity to law abiding citizens (innocent until proven guilty in the court of law), but also avoids massive breaches of major exchanges by decentralizing the function of money to many National Banks as well as to Sovereign Individuals. Real choice for We the People to keep our government in check. Crypto does not keep our government in check, it makes them more powerful to regulation and coercion, as well as greed. For those that argue "I have nothing to hide", you completely miss the CONSTITUTIONAL point. The government has the burden of proof to prove beyond a reasonable doubt to a court and jury of anyone's guilt. Sovereign citizens using physical Precious Metals as a means to settle debts should not give the Government an automatic pass to inquire about transactions - they have to prove that a crime has been or is in the process of being committed. And maybe was such the case below, but during a transition from a capitalistic-democratic to an technocratic-globalist society that we are witnessing (thank you 1984), the tide can be quickly turned back on YOU.
"Today, federal law enforcement demonstrates once again that we can follow money through the blockchain, and that we will not allow cryptocurrency to be a safe haven for money laundering or a zone of lawlessness within our financial system," Assistant Attorney General Kenneth Polite Jr. said in a statement.
